On this awesome day I want to remind you of the one key element about social media marketing … and that is that there are really only 2 ingredients to winning; it’s only you and them.

It’s NOT about the product or service you sell or rep; it’s about how your product or service will help THEM, will make them FEEL and will IMPROVE their lives. That outcome does not come via a sales tag or a billboard; it comes through a story.

It doesn’t have to be your story either; it can be that of a client or customer who is willingly telling the world about your awesome service.


Story eventually brings the sale; and it’s that relationship you’ve built between YOUR story and THEIR needs that causes it to happen.


Let’s break these ingredients down a little, and give you something to focus on.

THEM = listening to your audience, observing their actions, studying their habits, interacting and engaging with them, building them up when there is opportunity

YOU = your branding on point, your message is clear, you give value through your storytelling (content) and build relationships with your audience (get them on your list), your offer is vibrant and vital

There are much greater strategies beyond this, but this is your foundation.

Think this weekend on what you currently put out on social. It really is not about the products or services you provide, it’s about the solutions and the experience your readers and followers will get from using your product or service. Start jotting down stories you will tell using social media and the methods you will engage in to listen more closely to your audience to establish their needs.
